Chucuito, the city of the Royal Boxes

ITINERARY
We start by collecting you from your hotel. We have a 30 minutes bus ride to visit Chucuito, at approximately 18 kilometers from the city of Puno. Chucuito used to be the capital of the Lucanas pre- Inca culture and the city of the royal boxes where the taxes from the mining production used to be collected for the king. Moreover it has an imposing view of Lake Titicaca. We then have a guided visit of Inca Uyo temple, temple of the fertility, its main plaza has two old catholic churches “La Asunción and the Santo Domingo” the oldest ones on the Altiplano, the Peruvian Highland, and it also has a monument called “El Rollo or Picota” in memory of the Spanish foundation of the city. On this monument a beautiful Inca sundial has been placed.
