From 8:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M.
The Pisac Market, Ollantaytambo ruins and the village

Our guided Sacred Valley tour starts by collecting you from your hotel. We then transfer you to Pisac in approximately 40 minutes in order to visit the Pisac Market. This market is a highly recommended artisan market, especially on market days and Sundays. The peasants from the surrounding communities descend from the mountains in order to perform their commercial transactions. The colorful clothing of peasants is very showy. Their native hats make them very easy to distinguish. At 11:00 A.M. there is a catholic mass in the church for the local populace in Incan language. After the market visit, we will enjoy lunch at a restaurant. We then have a demonstration of Inca beer preparation in an Andean bar (Ajahuasy).

Afterwards, we travel to Ollantaytambo Town which is situated at 68 kilometers (47.2 miles) northwest of Cusco; its altitude is 2,700 meters (8,856 ft). This town used to be the Royal estate of the Inca Pachacuteq, which stands at a strategic spot, enclosed in hills that hide some of the most impressive ruins from Inca and Pre-Inca times. The town is one of the best surviving Inca settlements still inhabited, in blocks called Canchas, one Cancha housed several families. Moreover, we will have a fantastic ceramic demonstration in pre-Inca and Inca style. Dinner and overnight at hotel

DAY FOUR

MACHU PICCHU IN THE AFTERNOON
From 5:30 A.M. to 5:30 P.M.
Machu Picchu, the sun gate and sunset

Our guided Majestic Machu Picchu tour starts by collecting you from your hotel. We then have a transfer to the train station in either Poroy at 20 minutes from Cusco or Ollantaytambo in the Sacred Valley. We will board the train to Machu Picchu, located at 112 kilometers (69 miles) northwest of Cusco. This is without doubt, one of the most fascinating wonders and mysterious cities in the entire world.

We then take the bus to Machu Picchu Inca citadel. Afterwards, we start walking up towards the Sun Gate. On the way up, we can enjoy the fantastic views of the city, the Mama Kuna grave, the rock carving of the Inca altar, the check points of the city and the Inca trail. After this short hike we will have lunch at a restaurant.

At around 3:00 P.M. Machu Picchu begins to empty as the day tourists leave for the last train. This is specifically a good moment for taking photographs. We then watch the sunset from the guardian house and its surroundings. It is impossible to describe the landscape, the shadows of the buildings and the suns reflections; they are very impressive all year around, in an amazing natural setting. We then take the bus to the hotel in the village of Aguas Calientes.
We will have dinner at a restaurant and stay the night at the hotel

DAY FIVE

MACHU PICCHU TOUR
From 6:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M.
Machu Picchu, the sunrise and the tour of city

Today’s tour starts by collecting you from your hotel. We take the first bus up to visit Machu Picchu and enjoy the sunrise from the Guardian House. The rising sun, its shadows, the reflections on astronomical observatories and on the Incan Altars used to be, and still are, very important for farming, religion and celebrations. Today the sunrise is a famous natural phenomenon.

After this, we start the tour from the Guardian House, which is the best look out point of Machu Picchu. The tour involves walking and visiting each sector, section by section. The tour provides a personal meeting with the Inca legacy and its energy is connected step by step with each enclosure, temple, altar and nature. The city is incredible in any season. After a guided tour, we have lunch at a Restaurant in Aguas calientes.

In the afternoon, we will return to Cusco by train and private transfer.

We will have dinner at a restaurant.

DAY SIX

WEAVERS COMMUNITY
From 8:00 A.M. to 5:30 P.M.
Chinchero town, the Church, the Incan Place, Maras, Moray and Salineras

Our guided weavers’ village tour starts by collecting you from your hotel. We then have 40 minutes ride in private transportation to the village of Chinchero at 30 Kilometers (19 miles) northwest of Cusco. Its altitude is 3,780 meters (12,400 ft). On a clear day the views are tremendous, ringed by the snowcaps of the cordilleras of Vilcabamba, Apurimac and Urubamba. Chinchero is famous for its Sunday market, where even today it is possible to see weaving demonstrations of native weavers. This tour is particularly popular by those who are interested in Andean textiles. A box lunch on the way.

We then visit The Church. This building has impressive works of art from the Cusco school. It has a colonial mural around the portico. Inside it is very beautiful, with entirely painted walls and ceiling of multicolored flowers and patterns, all made with natural pigments.

After the church visit we will walk around The Incan Palace. This must have been very important because its facade has a double jamb door which by itself indicates its category. There are two Huacas (shrines) carved on outcrop limestone formations; today they are known as Chincana and Titicaca.

We then have a packed lunch and then we head towards Maras. Maras is situated at about 50 kilometers northwest of Cusco. Its altitude is at 3,300 meters (10,824 ft). It was a pre-Inca settlement and around this area there are a large amount of pottery pieces from the Chanapata culture. Its occupation began when the Cusquenian Inca noblemen were dispossessed of their palaces. Many of its houses are emblazoned with Spanish nobility coats of arms on their lintels.

After Maras town, we will visit Moray which is situated at about 7 kilometers (4.3 miles) southwest from the dusty roads of Maras. This used to be an experimental biological station where the Incas domesticated and acclimatized wild vegetable species. At last, we will visit Salineras. These salt pans are said to be an Inca salt mine. It was constructed in a slope of the Qaqawiñay Mountain. After our guided tour, we will return to Cusco.
Dinner at a restaurant and overnight at hotel

DAY SEVEN

CITY TOUR
From 8:00 A.M. To 1:00 P.M.
The temple of the sun, the cathedral, Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Pucapucara and Tambo Machay

Our guided city tour starts by collecting you from your hotel. We begin with a visit of the ruins near Cusco: Sacsayhuaman. This site is situated towards the northeast of Cusco with an altitude of 3600 meters above sea level (11800 ft). It is a bold demonstration of ancient construction skills. Made of massive stones weighing up to 17,000 kg (125 tons), this ruin was called “The Fortress” by the Spanish. It was more than simply a military structure. Some historians say the zigzagging shape of the walls represented the god of lightning, an important Inca deity.

After Sacsayhuaman, we will visit Q’enqo. This site is situated at about 1km towards the east of Sacsayhuaman. It was an Inca shrine (huaca) with a circular amphitheater and a stone block that is said to be representing a puma. This ceremonial center was dedicated to the worshipping of mother earth (Pacha Mama) From here we continue our tour with a visit to Pucapucara at approximately 8.5 kilometers (5.3 miles) from Cusco and with an altitude of 3750 meters above sea level (12300 ft). It was originally thought to be a military checkpoint. It was also a collective lodge offering food and shelter for travelers, as well as for the retinue escorting the Inca to his retreat in Tambo Machay.

Some meters ahead you will find the site of Tambo Machay. Tambo Machay is the sacred bathing place for the Inca rulers; “The Incas Bath”, and was probably a centre of water worship. It is known that the Incas referred to water as one of the principal elements of life.

We then visit the temple of the Sun. Qoricancha is a synthesis of Inca organization, architecture and religion. The walls are made of sedimentary Inca stone work and illustrate the expression of architecture in pre-Columbian America. It was the center of the religion dedicated to different gods and deities: the Rainbow, Thunder, Stars, the Moon, and, of course, The Sun himself. The abducted idols of subdued tribes were kept hostage in the temple and if the tribe stepped out of line the idols were ridiculed and then destroyed.

We finalize the tour with a visit to the Cathedral. Construction of this building started in 1560 under the leadership of Inca Viracocha. It was finished in 1654 after 94 years of work. This is without any doubt, one of the most notable monuments in architecture, with the best expressions of woodcarving, silver and gold works and Cusco school paintings.
